Cloudy and showery day with outbreaks tending to be heavier and more frequent across Shetland, with some thunderstorms possible. Best chance of limited brighter spells towards Orkney. Fresh to strong northwest winds for Orkney throughout and Shetland by late afternoon. Maximum temperature 16 °C.


Showers quite frequent early evening particularly across Shetland. Outbreaks gradually easing late evening and overnight, with some brighter spells appearing come dawn. Fresh to strong northwest winds easing overnight. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Thursday 13th July:

Improved from Wednesday with only scattered quite light showers mixed with brighter spells, brought on light to moderate west to northwest breezes. However temperatures down a little. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Friday largely fine, dry and sunny with light winds. However rain and strengthening winds feeding from the south overnight Friday and through the weekend.
