A rather cloudy day with scattered light showers. Best chance of brightness expected over Shetland during the afternoon. Winds west to northwest initially fresh to strong, easing from the south through the day. Maximum temperature 15 °C.


Rather cloudy with further scattered light showers for the evening. Outbreaks turning heavier and more frequent across Orkney overnight, perhaps for Shetland by dawn. Light winds. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Friday 14th July:

Showers occasional and heavy at times, chiefly over Orkney. Best chance of limited brighter spells over Shetland. Easterly winds developing, reaching fresh over Orkney by late afternoon. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Unsettled and occasionally windy for the weekend with showers and longer periods of rain which turn heavy at times. Turning gradually drier Monday as winds ease
