Rain soon spreading north into Orkney in the morning, and then Shetland by afternoon. Drier and becoming bright across Orkney in the afternoon. Strong occasionally gale, east or southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Tonight:

Rain clearing Shetland by early evening and some late evening sunshine is possible, a few clear spells developing overnight, but remaining breezy. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Sunday 20th August:

A bright and breezy start on Sunday with sunny spells, a few showers passing through the islands but mainly dry, still quite windy at times. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

A bright start to the week but showers soon moving in and remaining windy with southwesterly gales a possibility. A little brighter on Tuesday and Wednesday but still blustery showers.
