Today 7th September:

Patchy drizzle, low cloud and haar over Shetland becoming confined to the east coast this morning. Otherwise a dry day with some good spells of very warm sunshine developing. Occasionally fresh southerly winds. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Tonight:

Risk of an isolated thundery shower this evening. But generally dry with clear spells haar edging back around Shetland and into eastern Orkney this evening and overnight. Winds easing. Minimum temperature 13 °C.

Friday 8th September:

Overnight haar becoming confined to eastern parts through the morning to leave another dry day with some long spells of very warm sunshine. Risk of evening thundery showers for Orkney. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Rather cloudy at times with showers or longer spells of rain through the weekend and Monday, and becoming much cooler as winds turn more westerly or northwesterly.
