Today 9th September:

A dry and bright morning with any mist lifting to give some sunshine. Cloud thickening at times in afternoon with the odd showers possible. Still very warm across Orkney. Maximum temperature 21 °C.


Thickening cloud with outbreaks of rain, turning drier and clearer across Shetland overnight. Winds moderate from the west or southwest, falling light overnight. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Sunday 10th September:

Patchy rain over Orkney in the morning with Shetland dry and bright. The rain will turn heavier and more persistent through the afternoon and extend north into Shetland. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Showers or longer outbreaks of rain on Monday. Brighter and much cooler on Tuesday and Wednesday with showers. Windy too, strong northwest winds at times.
