Right to be Human: Scottish Storytelling Festival 2023

Tickets are now on sale for the Scottish Storytelling Festival which take place from 13-29 October 2023.

This year, on the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the theme is the ‘Right to be Human’. The festival will consider the many challenges we face, from human health and wellbeing to the health and future of our planet.

Storytellers, musicians and artists will join together in venues across the country with tales of human courage and creativity.

 Another Story: A Scottish Storytelling Podcast has also been launched . This series features some wonderful storytellers, hearing their tales, and exploring different areas of storytelling in Scotland and beyond.

Orkney Event

THU 26 – SUN 29 OCT Orkney Storytelling Festival

Welcome to the small festival with a big heart! This year we are honoured to host storytellers Peter Chand and Shonaleigh Cumbers, joined by renowned artist and illustrator Katherine Soutar, who will be creating live art during the storytelling sessions.

Our guests will be joined by local storytellers Tom Muir, Fran Flett Hollinrake, Marita Luck, Erin Farley and Chris Perry on a four-day celebration of traditional stories in a series of venues throughout the islands, also including 12th-century St Magnus Cathedral.
