Rather cloudy with showers or occasionally longer spells of rain. The showers will be mostly over Orkney in the morning before spreading to Shetland in the afternoon. Fresh to strong south or southwest winds, slowly easing. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

Remaining mostly cloudy with showers or the odd longer spell of rain. Winds falling light over Shetland, but turning into the northwest across Orkney and fresh to strong by dawn. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Friday 22nd September:

Mainly cloudy with showers, these perhaps merging at times. Feeling chilly in the fresh to strong northwest winds, although winds lighter at first in Shetland. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Showers gradually dying out on Saturday and the fresh to strong northwesterly winds slowly easing. Rain or showers at times on Sunday and Monday and windy at times.
