A mainly dry and bright morning, some sunny intervals, the odd shower over Shetland. Orkney will become cloudy, then rain will arrive during the afternoon, with a strengthening southeasterly wind. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
Tonight:
The rain will extend to Shetland this evening, this heavy at times. Further rain and drizzle overnight but turning lighter as the fresh to strong southeasterly winds swing southwesterly. Minimum temperature 11 °C.
Friday 6th October:
Rather cloudy with a few light showers and limited sunny intervals. Strong to gale force southwesterly winds veering northerly later. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Mainly dry on Saturday before heavy rain spreads north in the evening and overnight. Wet Sunday over Shetland but Orkney becoming brighter and warmer. Monday cloudy but mainly dry,
