Mostly cloudy with some patchy rain, with hill fog this morning, then brightening up later with sunny intervals and light showers. Strong to gale force southwesterly winds veering northerly this afternoon and easing later. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

It will be a mainly dry evening and night with some clear spells, the best of these over Shetland, with some thicker cloud affecting Orkney. Light winds, chilly. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Saturday 7th October:

It will be a dry and bright day with some sunny spells and a mainly light north to northeast breeze. Cooler. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Rain spreading north on Sunday, turning heavy at times. Sunny intervals and a few showers on Monday then cloudier with some rain on Tuesday.
