A rather cloudy day with occasional showers, these most frequent across Orkney. Chance of some limited brighter spells breaking through, chiefly across Shetland. Winds Fresh to strong north to northwest, easing light to moderate for the afternoon. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

Showers again focused across Orkney with the best of the clear spells expected over Shetland. Light northwest breezes backing west to southwest and freshening towards dawn. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Monday 16th October:

Relatively settled with occasional bright and sunny spells and only a few scattered light showers infrequently cropping up. Winds west to southwest fresh to strong. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Tuesday offers the best conditions with most staying dry and seeing good sunny spells and light winds. Wednesday turning cloudy heralding periods of rain later Thursday, perhaps turning heavy.
