Mainly dry on Thursday, but rain later for Orkney. Gales.

Today 19th October:

Mainly dry, with bright spells and some sunshine too over Shetland, but becoming cloudier through the afternoon with rain over Orkney by evening. Southeasterly gales, severe across Orkney. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Tonight:

Mainly dry over Shetland, with some clear spells. Cloudy over Orkney with occasionally heavy rain in evening, but rain gradually dying out overnight. Southeast winds easing a little. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Friday 20th October:

Rather cloudy but some bright spells. though a few showers on strong easterly winds. Longer spells of rain returning to Orkney in the evening with gales developing. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Dry, bright start for Shetland Saturday, otherwise cloudy with rain at times over the weekend, but becoming drier and brighter Monday morning. Easterly gales Saturday, easing Sunday, light winds Monday.
