Windy with a few showers on Friday.

Today 20th October:

Rather cloudy but some bright or sunny spells, but also some showers on strong east or southeast winds. Most showers over Orkney in the afternoon, with Shetland staying mainly dry and seeing the best of the sunshine. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

Showers merging to longer spells of rain across Orkney overnight, but only the odd shower with clear spells over Shetland. Easterly winds gradually easing, though staying quite windy over Orkney. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Saturday 21st October:

Further rain across Orkney through the day. A dry, bright start for Shetland but patchy, mainly light rain will arrive from the south in the afternoon. Strengthening easterly winds. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Some rain Sunday, but winds will ease. Mainly dry and bright on Monday but occasionally heavy rain on Tuesday, with strong to gale force easterly winds developing.
