Today 9th December:

Cloudy with periods of rain and strong easterly winds until the afternoon. Orkney will become dry from late afternoon when the wind begins to ease. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

Dry at first across Orkney otherwise windy with patchy light rain becoming persistent and heavy at times towards the morning. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Sunday 10th December:

Cloudy with rain at times, some heavy. Shetland will be drier and brighter. Strong southeast wind. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Mainly dry but cloudy with bright spells and light winds. Southwest winds strengthen later Wednesday bringing outbreaks of rain to Orkney, heavy at times.

    With such temperature ALL I must state is ‘EXOTIC’ regarding the
    8-degrees. Is Australia ‘getting’ any snow? At least those Outer
    -Hebrides have a 50/50 chance?
