The prevailing weather forecast, along with high tides and large waves means that flooding from the sea is expected. Winds will be Storm Force over the open seas with a westerly wind during the early hours of Thursday. This means that a combination of wave overtopping, spray and debris may result in the closure of the Churchill Barriers, with barriers west 1, 2 & West 3 most at risk

The highest risk is either side of Thursday morning’s (21st December) high tides, which will occur around 04.00hrs (GMT)
