  1. Each Saturday, in truly dismal weather, these people show concern for others. They deserve a round of applause – and a positive outcome.

  2. Yes, a positive outcome is what drives them to brave not only the weather but also the political winds that are coming from the opposite direction.
It is heartbreaking that the wider public and especially the ones in power do not take much notice of the daily horrors. The same applies to many news channels. Apparently, it is more important to inform the public about some rich guy who bought a football club. Afterwards a few short sentences about the situation in the middle east. Not too graphic obviously… because you wouldn’t want people to make associations when scraping some sprouts and leftovers from their festive plates what other people have to scrape from walls, from underneath the rubble, from roads…
We are so lucky… even during the cost of living crisis the majority of us still have a roof over our heads, some food, water, a functioning toilet and access to basic medical care…
Civilians in Gaza deserve exactly that too. Now. Not in many weeks, months, years… when there is nobody left.
