It will be a mostly cloudy day with a few brighter interludes. Also most places will stay dry with just a few light showers. Brisk northerly winds. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Tonight:

Staying mostly cloudy with still a few light showers, especially over parts of Shetland. Quite a cold night with a touch of frost and a few icy patches. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Thursday 11th January:

Another cloudy day but it will be mainly dry with just an isolated light shower remaining. Light northerly winds. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Cloudy on Friday with rain and strong west winds later. Turning much colder over weekend with showers becoming frequent, heavier on Sunday, turning to sleet and snow. Strengthening northerly winds.
