Southwesterly gales this morning, perhaps severe gales for a time before easing slightly in the afternoon. A largely cloudy day with outbreaks of rain, heavy for a time. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Tonight:

Mainly cloudy tonight with outbreaks of rain, especially for Shetland but lighter and more isolated for Orkney. Turning drier later. Strong south or southwesterly winds. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Sunday 28th January:

Southerly gales. A dry and bright start. However cloud will thicken in the afternoon ahead of outbreaks of rain later. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Monday mainly dry and bright with light winds, perhaps with the best of the countries weather. Tuesday mainly dry, bright. Wednesday windy and wet.
