This alert is for coastal flooding. Due to a combination of high tides and large waves, conditions in coastal areas could be dangerous. There is a risk of flooding and wave overtopping to low lying areas of the coast, especially those exposed to the East, from Saturday afternoon onwards

An updated FLOOD WARNING has been issued for Churchill Barriers.

The prevailing weather forecast, along with high tides and large waves means that flooding from the sea is expected. Gale Force easterly winds mean that a combination of wave overtopping, spray and debris may result in the closure of the Churchill Barriers. The highest risk is either side of the high tides, which includes Saturday 10th February at 11.30am and the following high tide at midnight.

The risk from overtopping is likely to continue either side of the high tides on Sunday 11th February aswell.
