Find Out About Community Land Ownership in Orkney

Community Land Scotland is to hold a workshop in Orkney. The islands have one of the highest rates of community ownership in Scotland.

The charity was established to provide a collective voice for community landowners in Scotland. 

The Orkney workshop takes place in the McGillvray Room, Orkney Library & Archives, Kirkwall on 26th March from 2 to 4pm. There will also be a livestream of the event. You can register on this link for the FREE event: Community ownership and its place in Orkney

The workshop will cover how community ownership is benefiting Shapinsay, Westray and Rousay, Egilsay & Wyre.

Donna Heddie, Professor of Northern Heritage at UHI and Francesca (Chessa) Couperwhite of HIE will lead a discussion about how community ownership contributes to the culture and economy of Orkney.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask any questions they have about community ownership.

This event is part of the Linn an fhearainn / 100 Years of Community Ownership project and is supported by the Scottish Government and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
