Friday will be largely dry with sunny spells. Strong northerly winds at first, with gales across Shetland to start the day, but winds gradually easing through the day. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Tonight:

Dry with clear spells through the evening and overnight. Cloud thickening from the west for Orkney in the early hours. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Saturday 20th April:

Dry Saturday for Shetland, but cloud, rain and drizzle pushing in to Orkney from the morning, persisting all day. Cloud and drizzle reaching Shetland late evening. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Cloudy with patchy light rain or drizzle Sunday into Monday midday. Becoming drier and brighter with sunny spells from Monday afternoon continuing to Tuesday.
