Orkney overcast with patchy drizzle and fog for much of day, but dry, bright conditions breaking through late afternoon. Shetland dry, sunny for majority, but a chance of some sea fog clipping southern areas for a time during the morning. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Tonight:

Shetland largely dry with good late sunshine then clear spells. Orkney cloudy and misty with fog patches and some drizzle. Fresh southeast winds. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Wednesday 22nd May:

Orkney cloudy with some drizzle and fog patches. Shetland dry with brighter spells developing. Southeast breezes easing light and variable for the afternoon. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Thursday and Friday overcast with occasional rain, heaviest and most persistent for Thursday. Saturday dry with bright and sunny spells.
