Misty, cloudy start with occasional showers. Turning largely dry an bright for Orkney from mid-morning, but remaining overcast for Shetland with showers merging to longer and heavier spells of rain late morning and for much of afternoon. Fresh southeast winds. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Tonight:

Mainly dry evening with late sunshine best across Shetland. Cloudy overnight with showers. Brisk southeast winds easing for a time overnight, before a strengthening westerly develops across Orkney towards dawn. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Friday 28th June:

Cloudy morning with showers or longer periods of rain. Turning drier, brighter across Orkney during afternoon. Strong westerly winds extending from Orkney to Shetland during the afternoon. Feeling significantly cooler. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Rather cloudy with showers that merge to longer periods of rain at times, these heaviest during Monday. Fresh to strong westerly winds easing light for Monday.
