A series of walks following the route of the St Magnus Way are to take place on Saturdays and Sundays over the next two months.

The first one is on Saturday September 7th and takes walkers along the Egilsay section of the Way.

All ages & 4 legged friends (on a lead please) are welcome. This is a superb chance to experience a special island.

It was on the island of Egilsay that Earl Magnus was killed on the orders of his cousin Earl Hakan.

The other walks planned are:

  • Gurness to Birsay: Sunday, Sept 15th.
  • Birsay to Dounby: Saturday, Sept 21st.
  • Dounby to Finstown: Sunday, Sept 29th.
  • Finstown to Orphir: Saturday, Oct 5th.
  • Orphir to Kirkwall: Sunday, Oct 13th.
