A dull start for most with low cloud and haar. Clearer skies over the North Sea should edge in across the Isles to bring some sunny spells, though a few patches of haar may stick around, more likely over Orkney. Maximum temperature 19 °C.
Tonight:
Perhaps clear at first over Shetland and west Orkney otherwise extensive low cloud and haar this evening and tonight. Light mainly southeasterly winds. Minimum temperature 10 °C.
Saturday 7th September:
Haar expected to linger through Saturday, some occasional sunnier breaks possible along western coasts. Warm where the sun manages to break through. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Sunday cloudy with ongoing haar risk and perhaps some drizzle. Much brighter on Monday with sunshine and scattered showers. Showers or perhaps longer spells of rain on Tuesday.
