At the wheel of a Tuk-Tuk (sporting a giant wedge of cheese on the roof), founders of Millbrook Dairy in Devon, David Evans and Kevin Beer, have completed a challenge to drive from Bideford, to Orkney. The pair visited the Island Smokery and Kirkwall Creamery before crossing the finish line in Orkney, raising over £18,000 so far for Children in Need.
The trip, which the team has just completed in nine days, included 29 stops and a total of 1600 miles. Yesterday David and Kevin visited Island Smokery in Stromness and Kirkwall Creamery (part of Lactalis) in Orkney. As master cheese graders, David and Kevin met the owners of each producer along with some of their team and enjoyed the opportunity to taste and grade their cheese.

Kevin Beer, Co-Founder and Director at Millbrook Dairy Company, said:
“It’s our fifth birthday this year, and we wanted to do something different where we can give back to society – hence our crazy Tuk-Tuk idea!
“As well as raising money for BBC Children In Need, we have sampled some amazing cheeses along the way too from the very best of UK producers. We have loved every moment, although it has made us appreciate the comfort, we all take for granted in our normal vehicles!”.

David Evans, Co-Founder and Director at Millbrook Dairy Company, added:
“So far, we have raised over £18,000 for Children in Need which is an amazing charity that helps fund thousands of projects in every corner of the UK. Our family and friends have already sponsored us, and some of our wonderful suppliers and customers have supported us too, and we are hoping that our fund raising will continue to grow throughout and after our trip.
