Gales ease as the wind turns strong northwesterly overnight. Outbreaks of rain move south over Orkney from the evening with Shetland becoming colder and drier by morning. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Friday 1st November:
Strong northwest winds ease and rain over Orkney clears to leave bright spells and light wintry showers over the Northern Isles Friday. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Mainly dry but cloudy Saturday with freshening southwest winds later. Cloudy and milder with patchy light rain in southwest winds Sunday and Monday.
