A bright start with a scattering of showers, these wintry at times. The showers dying out but thickening cloud will bring patchy rain to Orkney by evening. Chilly northwest winds easing. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Tonight:

Cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Low cloud becoming extensive overnight with occasional mist. Winds turning into the west, fresh to strong at times. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Sunday 15th December:

Mostly cloudy with patchy rain and drizzle, turning heavier and more persistent later in the day. Some brighter spells in Orkney. Strong to gale force west or southwest winds. Mild. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Early rain then some bright spells and showers on Monday. Windy. Bright with showers and easing winds on Tuesday. Wet and windy early Wednesday.
