YELLOW WARNING SNOW AND ICE
Another cold day with further snow showers, most frequent in the morning with some blustery northwest winds. Turning increasingly dry through the afternoon as winds ease down. Maximum temperature 1 °C.
Tonight:
Some snow showers at first, largely dying off through the evening. Further shower spread into Orkney through the early hours, perhaps reaching Shetland by morning. Minimum temperature -2 °C.
Saturday 4th January:
Wintry showers over Shetland, turning to increasingly to rain in the south. Cloudy with showers or more persistent rain over Orkney. Lighter winds. Maximum temperature 3 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Rain or showers over Orkney, some wintry showers over Shetland, and freshening northeast winds on Sunday. Northerly gales and wintry showers on Monday and Tuesday.
