A frosty but dry and bright start to the day. Staying dry with bright or sunny spells through most of the day. Light winds will freshen from the south during the afternoon. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Tonight:

The night will continue dry and mostly cloudy with the best of any clear spells over Shetland. The fresh southerly breeze will ease down for a time towards morning. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Sunday 12th January:

A mostly cloudy and dry day with the early light southerly breeze strengthening from the afternoon. Rain will spread over Orkney towards evening. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Breezy but milder from Monday. Outbreaks rain Monday and Tuesday but dry for a time Orkney Tuesday, patchy rain Wednesday.
