Bright spells and the odd shower at first, but clouding over through the middle of the day with some outbreaks of rain, mainly for Shetland. Staying mild and breezy. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Tonight:

Staying cloudy and murky for Shetland with some patchy light rain. Cloudy but drier for Orkney, perhaps a few clearer spells at times. Strong southwest winds. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Wednesday 15th January:

Mild. A cloudy morning with some patchy rain over Shetland, drier and brighter for Orkney. Staying cloudy in the afternoon with outbreaks of rain. Strong southwest winds. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Mild conditions continue throughout the week. Outbreaks of rain are expected most days with drier periods at other times over Orkney, and more widely on Thursday. Staying quite windy.
