AMBER WARNING WIND

A spell of heavy rain over Orkney will push up to Shetland by late morning, followed from the south by brighter weather with sunny intervals and showers. Southeasterly gales, probably easing later. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Tonight:

Further showers this evening and tonight with some longer spells of heavy rain spreading to Orkney. Strengthening westerly winds with severe gales or storms affecting Orkney. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Saturday 25 January:

AMBER WARNING WIND

Bright or sunny intervals and frequent showers, even some longer spells of rain at first. West to southwesterly gales or severe gales gradually easing. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Cold, less windy on Sunday with showers at first, drier later. Rain or showers on Monday, windy. Sunny spells on Tuesday, a few showers later.
