Severe gale to storm force westerly winds at first over Orkney, otherwise occasional gales, as Storm Eowyn clears northwards. A rather cloudy day with showers or longer periods of rain, but gradually turning drier from the south from noon. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Tonight:

Only a few scattered showers for much of the night, but showers building across Orkney towards dawn. Strong southwest winds touching gale force early evening across Shetland, backing south overnight. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Sunday 26 January:

Cloudy with showers or longer periods of rain and strong to gale force winds at first, turning drier and brighter for the afternoon as the winds ease. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Showers or longer periods of rain and occasionally windy for Monday and Tuesday, then more settled conditions for Wednesday.
