It will be a dry, bright day for Orkney with plenty of sunshine. A cloudier morning for Shetland with a few showers, becoming brighter later. Cold with light winds. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Tonight:

It will be a dry night across the Northern Isles with clear periods. A cold night with southern winds freshening by morning. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Saturday 1 February:

Much of the day dry with some sunshine at first, then becoming cloudy. Patchy light rain reaching Orkney later in afternoon, then Shetland during evening. Southerly winds becoming strong. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

A changeable few days with southerly winds strong at times. Also rain clearing on Sunday with dry, brighter weather following. Rain returning on Monday then drier again on Tuesday.
