A rather cloudy day with some scattered light showers developing, most frequently across Shetland. Winds light mainly from the east. Best chance of brighter spells over Orkney during the early morning and late afternoon. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
Tonight:
Rather cloudy with scattered light showers, which turn heavier across Shetland overnight, perhaps with some sleet and wet snow here towards dawn. Easterly winds occasionally fresh overnight. Minimum temperature 1 °C.
Saturday:
Occasional showers, these increasingly wintry but quite light and dying away across Shetland during the afternoon as periods of weak winter sunshine increase. Cold in fresh to strong easterly winds. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Sunday and Monday cold and rather cloudy with occasional light showers and freshening southeast winds. Tuesday dull with periods of light to moderate rain.
