Today 23 February YELLOW WARNING WIND:

A bright start for Shetland but rain will soon reach Orkney before spreading northeast into Shetland. Orkney becoming drier and brighter late in the afternoon. A very windy day with severe gale force southerly winds. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

Rain quickly clearing Shetland in the evening. Otherwise, clear spells and a few passing showers. Winds easing a little in the evening but remaining strong from the southwest. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Monday 24 February:

A mixture of bright spells and showers, these heaviest across Shetland. Feeling rather cold with strong to gale force southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Sunshine and showers on Tuesday, a spell of rain and hill snow on Wednesday then further showers on Thursday. Often breezy and turning colder.
