A dry and bright day although high cloud will make the sunshine rather hazy. Feeling quite cold in the strong south or southeast winds, touching gale force later over Shetland. Maximum temperature 10 °C.
Tonight:
A dry evening then staying mostly dry overnight although some outbreaks of rain may reach Orkney later. Strong southeasterly winds with gales over Shetland. Minimum temperature 7 °C.
Saturday 22 March:
A bright start for Shetland but outbreaks of rain across Orkney will spread to Shetland in the afternoon. Southeasterly gales, severe across Shetland. Maximum temperature 10 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Rain and winds easing on Sunday then brighter with sunny spells on Monday. A little rain at first on Tuesday then dry and bright.
