A dry start for Shetland but outbreaks of rain across Orkney will spread to Shetland around mid-morning, heavy at times, and continuing through the afternoon. Southeasterly gales, severe across Shetland. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

Dull and cloudy through the evening overnight with rain, heavy at times. Southeast gales for Shetland will ease through the night. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Sunday 23 March:

Cloudy with persistent and at times heavy rain in the morning. Staying cloudy but rain becoming lighter and more patchy through the day. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Brighter start with sunny spells on Monday, rain spreading east later. Rain clearing at first on Tuesday then dry and bright. Bright spells Wednesday morning, rain spreading east later.
