Orkney will have a dry day with some occasional brightness. Cloudy across Shetland with occasional rain, this mostly this morning. Freshening southwesterly winds this afternoon. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

Rain will spread east for a time this evening. Then the rest of the night will be largely dry with clear periods. Strong southwesterly winds for a time this evening. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Thursday 27 March:

Orkney will be mainly dry and rather cloudy. Cloudy across Shetland with showery rain spreading from the southwest by afternoon. Brisk southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Colder on Friday with showers, becoming cloudier and windy in the afternoon. Dry for most of Saturday but rain towards evening. Early showers Sunday then mostly dry.
