It will be a cloudy day over Shetland with a few spots of light rain possible at times. Dry and sunny for Orkney with some patchy cloud moving in from the north later in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

Over Shetland dry with cloud clearing from the north bringing long clear periods overnight. For Orkney a few clear spells in the evening but generally turning cloudier overnight. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Friday 4 April:

A dry day. Cloudy start for Orkney but sunny spells over Shetland extending to Orkney from late morning. East to northeast breezes occasionally fresh. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

High pressure remaining in charge to give dry and settled weather. Rather cloudy but some clear and sunny intervals breaking through at times. Winds becoming light through Saturday.
