A sunny Spring Equinox in Orkney, and we went for a stroll along the track by the Dam O’ Hoxa, South Ronaldsay

Where we saw Oystercatchers

keeping company with a female Red-breasted Merganser

There was a male Merganser out on the water – so far out, that the pic. is a bit vague

A couple of Shelduck

And a Great-Northern Diver

…..who caught a crab………

We also saw a Reed Bunting in a willow by the track, but it was too quick for us to get a pic!

Then to the Barrier View café for lunch where we sat in a sunny window and enjoyed the view….
