Wednesday morning, there were TWO Hares in our garden

two hares on the garden grass

One having a thorough grooming session

They were mating – right there in the meadow – which, hopefully, means more Hares.

No photos – it’s all over too quickly!

They were there for most of the day, and settled down in the evening

By Thursday morning they were gone, but then…..they turned up again and  re-established themselves in ‘their’ garden!

So I Googled the significance of seeing Hares in your garden….

Well, well, well……..

(They’ve got it wrong about spending their days in burrows – that’s rabbits!)

    Leverets? Here’s hoping!

    1. Wonderful news. I’m envious while I’m stuck here in the middle of a city.

I’m pleased that you’ve enjoyed seeing the Hares. That’s a lot of why I put these pieces together – in the hope that folks in cities will like to see the country wildlife – tho’, depending on the city – some places have wild things, especially near and on rivers.

I have a friend in London who has foxes visiting regularly. There are no foxes in Orkney – swings and roundabouts!
