The 7th of May, a fine sunny day and another stroll through Olav’s wood

Noticing details along the way

 E.T. woz ‘ere –

the initials ET carved into the bark of a living tree

And – by the thoughtfully placed bench near the river –  more tree carvings

lots of pairs of initials carved into the bark of a living tree

 Including a smiley face

a smiley face carved into the bark of a tree

The trees are watching

the shape of an eye formed in the bark of a tree

A tree with a heart

a heart shape high up in a tree where a branch has been cut off

There’s  a little waterfall  – very refreshing on a sunny day

water trickling down rocks and banking

Whilst sitting on the bench, we saw a Painted Lady butterfly, but she fluttered by too fast for us to take a photo!

You didn’t condemn the mindless vandalism of carving on trees! I’m sick to death of this and the branches thrown into the burn to make a dam, cemented with plants torn up from round about. You didn’t see the bags of dog shite left hanging on branches or tucked away where they think they can’t be seen. Nor do you see the repeated attempts to enter my shed, which could be left unlocked just a few years ago.

You didn’t notice that I wrote ‘The trees are watching’?

Maybe you could write your own article, presenting your view?

    PS.
When I see dog poo bags left lying or hanging about, I do mention it…..

Fact is – I’m pleased to say we didn’t see any in Olav’s Wood – if I had done, I would have photographed that too, and damned the culprits roundly, asking why do they do that? If they take the trouble to bag it – they can take it home with them too!
