In the jungle at the side of our garden there’s a pair of Blackbirds nesting, and a pair of Goldfinches.
The males perch high up to keep an eye out for marauding cats…..or are they just posing?

Two of the birds most different between there and here (Canada)! Our gold finches are mostly that–gold. Your blackbirds have the loveliest voices; ours, not so much. Thank you for the photos!
You’re very welcome Joy – I’m pleased that you like them! And yes, the Blackbird has a beautiful, mellifluous song – tho’ a local Blackbird also copies the whistle our neighbour uses to call his dog – it’s been doing so for about 2 years now – confuses the dog somewhat!
