Patchy cloud throughout the day interspersed with sunny spells. A few showers possible but these mainly focused over Shetland with Orkney seeing a mostly dry day. Fresh northerly winds which may be strong at times over Shetland. Maximum temperature 10 °C.
Tonight:
Occasional cloud and late sunny then clear spells throughout the night with the odd shower possible over Shetland. Fresh northerly winds becoming lighter for Orkney later in the night. Minimum temperature 4 °C.
Friday 23 May :
Sunny spells in the morning with an isolated shower for Shetland. Dry for all in the afternoon with long sunny periods developing for Orkney. Breezy northerly winds turning easterly later. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Cloud and rain for much of Saturday. Mostly cloudy Sunday and Monday with showers and perhaps longer spells of rain. Southerly winds becoming strong on Sunday with coastal gales Monday.
