A rather cloudy start with outbreaks of occasionally heavy thundery rain clearing northeastwards through the morning. The afternoon looks brighter with some sunny spells but still the risk of a few heavy showers. Winds turning more southwesterly. Maximum temperature 18 °C.
Tonight:
Some late sunny, then clear, spells, with occasional showers, these merging into a longer spell of rain towards the end of the night. Occasionally strong southwesterly winds. Minimum temperature 10 °C.
Monday 23 June :
Cloudy with outbreaks of occasionally heavy rain, the rain becoming confined to Shetland by early afternoon, with Orkney seeing some sunny spells developing. Risk of westerly gales across Orkney. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
Remaining unsettled with showers or, especially across Shetland on Tuesday and more generally on Thursday, some longer spells of rain. Best of any sunnier spells expected on Wednesday.
