Mainly dry and bright with some sunny interludes. A few sharp showers could pass through especially over Orkney, while there will be an increasing chance of low cloud or haar later over parts of Shetland. Warm, moderate southeast breeze. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Tonight:

Some evening sunshine for Orkney, otherwise mostly cloudy with low cloud and haar becoming more widespread tonight. Mainly dry but the odd shower. Minimum temperature 13 °C.

Saturday 19 July :

Haar gradually clearing though could take much of day over Orkney. Warm once the sun breaks through, but chance of one or two thundery showers. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

A few showers but these will be interspersed with warm and sunny spells. Low cloud could be extensive at times with occasional haar.
