Often bright or sunny spells with very warm sunshine developing, though there may be patches of haar around, particularly towards Orkney in the afternoon. There could also be heavy and perhaps thundery showers. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Tonight:

Chance of quite extensive haar at first, though clearer spells likely developing at times. Chance of a few thunderstorms in the evening. Cloud and light drizzle sink south towards dawn. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Friday 15 August :

A cloudy start on Friday with patchy rain and drizzle, becoming brighter through the late morning. Bright or sunny spells through the afternoon. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Dry and bright over the weekend and through Monday with some sunny spells at times, though likely cloudier over Shetland.
