Today 18 August :

Cloud and patchy drizzle is likely to be quite persistent on Monday morning, perhaps some brighter spells developing in the afternoon especially for Orkney. Winds remaining very light. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Some evening brightness for Orkney but otherwise cloudy with drizzly periods becoming more frequent overnight. Some cloud breaks later in the night for Shetland as a northerly breeze develops. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Tuesday 19 August :

Cloud starting to break up for Shetland with sunny spells developing, cloud and drizzle slower to clear for Orkney, feeling fresher in cool northerly breezes. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Cool northerly winds but brighter conditions towards the end of the week with a few showers but plenty of sunny spells.
