Orkney mainly dry with some brightness. Shetland and Fair Isle cloudier with drizzle or showery rain, some fog patches at first for north Shetland, chance of some brighter conditions by late afternoon. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Tonight:

Mostly dry with some evening sunshine, perhaps cloud lingering in places. A few showers developing towards the end of the night. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Friday 29 August :

A few scattered showers with brighter spells too for Shetland, mostly dry and bright for Orkney. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Apart from a few showers a fair start to the weekend but wind strengthening and rain likely on Sunday morning. Drier again later, with more fine weather on Monday.
