Area of occasionally heavy rain across Shetland early to mid-morning. Otherwise brighter spells and most avoiding the few isolated light showers that do crop up. South to southeast winds occasionally strong. Maximum temperature 18 °C.
Tonight:
A dry evening and night with late sunshine then clear spells. Temperatures holding up in the strong south to southeast winds. Minimum temperature 13 °C.
Monday 1 September :
Brighter spells and showers, these light and focused across Orkney, but the Northern Isles will probably see some of the best of the countries weather. Strong south to southeast winds. Maximum temperature 17 °C.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
Scattered showers and brighter spells for Tuesday. Rain or showers for Wednesday and Thursday, heavier across Shetland bringing the risk of thunderstorms.
